Sylvia Duffy, Teacher

My name is Sylvia Duffy and I come from Luton, which is near London.

When I was at school, I never imagined that one day I would live in a different country, but here I am! I studied a degree in English Language and Literature in Birmingham and then did office work for a couple of years before coming to Tarragona in 1990 to teach. I was only planning to stay for a few months, but I loved the work, the lifestyle and the people here in Tarragona, so I stayed. Now I am married with two sons and a dog.

I have been teaching for many years and l enjoy meeting new students and helping them achieve their English goals. In my free time, I like reading, spending time with the family and eating with friends. The countryside here is so beautiful that I never get tired of exploring and walking in the mountains, and if I can stop at a restaurant for some lovely Catalan food, that’s even better!
