My name is Julia McDermott and I am from Crystal Palace in London, England.
I started teaching English in 1997 and have taught in Poland, Italy, Portugal and England. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a librarian for ‘The Economist’ magazine and I also travelled a lot. I spent one year travelling and working in Asia and Australia and three months in India.
I have lived in Tarragona since 2003 and I really like it here. I think the best things about Tarragona are the beach, the weather and the fiestas.
I don’t have much free time, but when I do, I like spending time with my family – we have two children, two dogs and two cats, shopping and watching (English) TV!
My husband, Tim, and I opened Cambridge English Centre in 2010. Running an academy is a lot of work but I really enjoy it and, more than anything, I still really love teaching!
