Hello, my name is Luca Bowring McDermott. I was born in Tarragona but both of my parents are English so I have grown up only speaking English at home and with all the typical British customs, like the BBC and delicious English food!!!
I am currently studying an English degree at the URV in Tarragona. In 2025 I did a course to teach English as a foreign language and got the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults). I then spent the summer working as a teacher at the English Summer camp in Tamarit, where I taught mostly very young children, and I really enjoyed it.
I am looking forward to teaching students of different ages this course to broaden my experience and put into practice everything I have learnt. What´s more, when I was younger, I studied at the academy to get the Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency certificates, so I know exactly how it feels to be a student here!
In my free time, I enjoy going out with my friends, reading and watching series.
